tell us about Pepé!

Alfredo "Pepé" Flores-Carillo serves as Grásta Dé! emcee. Pepé is a veteran of diocesan youth ministry, having served as emcee at the annual Catholic Youth Xperience conference for high schoolers, Grásta Dé! '07-'10, and on the leadership team at previous Teens Are People Too ("TAPT") retreats. Pepé's life was touched by Christ as a teen and he continues his faith journey as a young adult. He currently serves as the coordinator of HS youth ministry at Nativity of Our Savior (Portage) and is also enrolled in the diocesan Lay Ministry Formation program.

tell us about the dance!
There is an appointed time for everything, and a time for every affair under the heavens...A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance! (Eccl. 3: 1,4)  Think it's impossible to have a dance that plays music worthy of a Christian event? Think again! It's all positive dance music, spun by DJ Jim Rainbolt of Sensational Sounds in Schererville.

tell us about the diocesan youth council!

Time and again we hear from adult leaders that one of their favorite parts of Grásta Dé! is watching our Diocesan Youth Council interact with the middle schoolers. Rest assured, our HS-aged DYC loves doing it! They come dressed to express a joyous love for Christ, and demonstrate leadership throughout the day in many ways. They serve as a powerful witness to middle schoolers: YES, high schoolers DO love Christ and WILL choose church-related activities beyond Confirmation!
