> About the T.A.P.T. ("Teens Are People Too") Retreat

Mission Statement:

The TAPT retreat brings a teen into a more intimate encounter with the Incarnate Jesus Christ
so that she or he is better equipped to evangelize the mission of the Christian community.

TAPT...

...is a weekend retreat experience sponsored by the Diocese of Gary Office for Youth, in collaboration with local parishes and youth-serving organizations throughout the Diocese of Gary.

...is a retreat for high school teens who want to take time to come to know themselves, others, and Jesus Christ more intimately in their lives.

...is a weekend full of talks, discussions, activities, prayer, Reconciliation, Eucharist, food, friends, and more FUN than you ever imagined!

...is staffed by priests, experienced and professional adults, and trained peer ministers from the Diocese of Gary. Former TAPTsters serve as peer ministers.

...is about bringing teens into a more intimate encounter with the Incarnate Jesus Christ:

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God...
And the Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us, and we saw his glory,
the glory as of the Father's only Son, full of grace and truth.
~ Gospel of John 1: 1-14

...challenges teens to themselves be an encounter of Christ for those they meet:

No one has ever seen God.
Yet, if we love one another,
God remains in us,
and his love is brought to perfection in us.
This is how we know that we remain in him
and he in us, that he has given us of his Spirit.
~1 John 4:12
