Are you or is your leadership team craving “classroom-style” training in Youth Ministry?

"YMU" is an effort to more effectively train youth ministry coordinators, volunteers, and anyone working with young people in junior high and high school. We also realize your time is valuable, and sometimes there’s not much time to learn about youth ministry when you’re doing youth ministry! That’s why we’ve designed the "curriculum" to consist of just two “short courses” of four hours each.

The content presented will be based on the comprehensive model of youth ministry advocated by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops in Renewing the Vision: A Framework for Catholic Youth Ministry. The two-day program will also review youth ministry basics and give you and your team a chance to do a self-assessment of your ministry.

Upon your graduation at the end of the "grueling" two-day semester, YMU students will earn a diploma showing that they have received training in Comprehensive Youth Ministry from the Diocese of Gary Office for Youth & Young Adults.

The courses are open to both adults and high school-aged youth who have demonstrated leadership in their program.
